It was a great ending to the chore of grocery shopping when I found a copy of Robert Galbraith’s (aka JK Rowling) debut crime novel ‘The Cuckoo’s Calling’. I had just found out this was Rowling’s pen name, and was eager to see how she departed from the Harry Potter series into a new genre and character set. Rowling did not disappoint!

The character of Cormoran Strike is so rich and full-bodied. And the secretary Robin is a great foil to Strike.
Although I look every time I pass the shelf, I imagine that I’ll have to buy the next book in the Strike series to see what case he cracks!
